Lees-McRae College’s Ski and Snowboard team is partnering with Beech Mountain Resort to host the inaugural Southern Rails on Saturday, November 26. Southern Rails is a rail jam open to ages eight and older with a $3,000 cash purse! First-place winners in both Freeski and Snowboarding will take home 1,000 cash money!
Registration and check-in occur from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Group Sales. Practice kicks off at noon, with the competition beginning at 2 p.m. Stick around for the Teton Gravity Research Film Golden Hour in the Taproom and Grill at 7 p.m.
All proceeds from the competition and film premier benefit the Lees-McRae College Ski and Snowboard team. The team was National Champion in 2021, and proceeds will help fund their travels for 2022.
