Cataloochee Snow Report
Opening Day is Sunday, November 2!
We began snowmaking at 9:30pm on Friday evening and have continued throughout the night and into the day today and we will open for the first day of the 2014-15 season and daily operations on Sunday, November 2 at 8:30am. Cataloochee is typically among one of the first ski areas in the country to make snow and open each year, opening last season on November 14 and skiing 132 days. This is our 54th season of skiing and riding.
On Sunday, we will be skiing from midstation down on 3 slopes with two aerial lifts operating on a base of 8”-14” and a machine groomed surface. On Sunday, we will offer one session of skiing, day skiing only from 9am-4:30pm and pricing will be a special $35 lift ticket rate for adults and $30 lift ticket rate of juniors, for either day or ½ day skiing. Regular rental rates will apply. We will be on limited cafeteria and programming services.
We are again offering our “One Run Refund” for guests unhappy with conditions and we will refund your lift ticket after 1 run within 45 minutes of your purchase. We will also be drawing for a free midweek season pass to be given away from one of opening day’s lift ticket purchases. Pass winner will be randomly drawn at the end of ticket sales on Sunday.
Don’t forget that if you have not made up your mind to purchase your season pass at Cataloochee, the lift ticket you purchase today can be upgraded to a season pass…using the cost of your lift ticket you have already purchased against the price of your pass. You just pay the difference!
Also, don’t forget if you have a current season pass to any other area, you can bring your pass to Cataloochee and receive $10 off your day’s lift ticket.
We remind you to be aware of changing ski conditions and use caution. Natural and manmade obstacles exist and snowmaking and grooming activities are routinely in progress. Please use control and ski or ride only on designated slopes and trails and please call this number anytime for current skiing conditions.
